Orgasmic

You asked for reviews, here's the first one. :)

Honestly, most people who ask for reviews in their own reviews just create mediocre stuff (or are at least at such a stage yet) but this track is almost giving me a boner. I love this strong industrial beat and how it is mixed with the synths and this oriental instrument. In general it makes a rather simple impression which I consider a very interesting style and not bad composing. Reminds me of the beginnings of electronic music (i.e. some older stuff by Vangelis, just with more balls). Also I had to think of a couple of game soundtracks, especially the first Unreal.

But all in all I have to say that it perfectly fits your description. It totally has this post nuclear feel, this mix of tribal culture and technology. It really feels like life in a ruined world. It's exactly what a proper Fallout soundtrack should sound like.

So, yeah, it's epic stuff in my ears.

The way it should be done!

While I'm neither a huge fan of chiptunes nor metal music this song absolutely gets me. Both elements, the metal and the chiptune, are very well done and are incredibly well mixed together. The music is really flowing in a beautiful way but still has a lot of power (I probably should call this power "balls" to compensate the gayness of the phrase "beautiful way"). Anyhow, the overall quality is just astonishing. This work is not in any way worse than Machinae Supremacy (who for me are pretty much the best there is in this genre). The only thing that doesn't knock me over is the beginning - it sort of seems spiritless compared to the rest but that's just how I feel about it and isn't enough for me to give the song a lower rating than 10/10.

Btw: I'm not sure how often I've listened to this song in a loop now but I guess it's more than ten times and I'm still far from tired of it. That means a lot. ;)

Thanks a lot Shaun :D Since both you and me are ffans of MaSu we both know where I get my inspiration from :)

Good job!

Really like this one. Very atmospheric and interesting mood. And quite nice usage of orchestral instruments. There's some space for improvement but really not much.

Well...

It's a nice attempt and I like the atmosphere of this piece. But personally I think this combination of "chaotic" melody and very sharp sounds makes it rather unenjoyable to listen to. I'd think about adding some reverb (but only a little). Also adding another instrument (some deeper strings) might do the trick.

loansindi responds:

I'm curious exactly what you mean by 'chaotic' melody.

Composer and game designer, always looking for projects to compose music or make sound effects for.
